This stunning antique button necklace is made with a late 19th century Victorian Zodiac button modeled on an Egyptian coin minted in Alexandrian Egypt to celebrate the 1461 year long Sothic cycle of the star Sirius in 139 CE during the reign of Roman emperor Antoninus Pius. This design features Zeus (Jupiter) in Pisces. Symbols of Greek mythology and other symbols of Antiquity inspired Victorian jewelry designs after the 1750s.
